The Carson City Seventh-day Adventist Church Food Pantry is open to the community for drive-through pick up on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please stop by if you are in need of food. No special paperwork is required (we will complete an intake form at your car if you are a new client), and you may come by even if you have used other food pantries in town. Limited supplies of diapers and baby formula are also available.

Carson High School Announces Graduation Ceremony Plan for Class of 2020

The Carson City School District is pleased to announce Carson High School’s graduation ceremony plan for the Class of 2020.

Carson High School will hold a drive-through ceremony Saturday, June 6, with varying times throughout the day where graduating seniors and their families will stay in their single vehicle until it's time for the graduate to exit their car, have their name announced on the loudspeaker as they walk across a stage erected on the northwest lawn (near the blue and white concrete ‘CHS’ sign), collect their diploma, have their picture taken, return to their vehicle and then proceed to the exit.

Carson City detectives arrest man for kidnapping, attempted sexual assault of a minor, and more

A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested at Mills Park Monday evening after allegedly kidnapping a child and attempting to sexually assault them, among other crimes.

According to the report, Kahlil Deshawn Williams was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a convenience store on Hot Springs Road for a kidnapping.

Is this pandemic over with yet? Nope! Not to beat a dead horse, but what is everyone doing with all this time off? The Carson City School District will transition all secondary students to a Pass/Fail grading system for the second semester of the 2019-2020 school year. During this pandemic, I would love to think I am in fact a builder because I strive to see the best in this, because I have been helping those struggling immensely during these hard times, and because I am doing my best to help the medical professionals I know.
