The Mix Nutrition is Carson City’s newest healthy, fitness-oriented smoothie and juice bar that has opened up shop on Retail Drive.

Located at 3250 Retail Drive Suit 105, next to Dickey’s BBQ, The Mix Nutrition offers a variety of health foods including smoothies and juices, as well as meal plan programs.

The monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk takes place Saturday followed by a performance from Tom Petty and Rod Stewart tribute bands during The Do Drop In’s “A Face in the Crowd” homeless fundraiser at Fuji Park. St. Teresa School will host its 17th annual Crab Feed Fundraiser. Combined with comedy at the Carson Nugget and Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City region is in store for a busy weekend. Minden business one of seven to receive business incentives from Gov. Sisolak, Economic Board

LAS VEGAS/CARSON CITY, Nev. – Gov. Steve Sisolak and the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) board approved performance-based initiatives for seven businesses to relocate in Nevada or expand their operations, which could create 270 new jobs.

The companies’ applications approved for initiatives represent a wide range of businesses across the state including a robotic company in Reno, a technology company in Las Vegas, and an industrial supplier of organic botanicals, spices, chili and teas in Minden.

Reserve your seat before Oct. 20. The Tea will be catered by Bella Vita restaurant and will include High Tea favorites: seasonal soup, salad, scones, a variety of finger sandwiches and special dessert bites, along with a variety of teas. The menu will be served at your table.

Carson City Historical Society Seeks Teapots for Exhibit in July

The Carson City Historical Society is looking for unusual teapots it can borrow for its free Teapot Exhibit from July 1 through July 31, 2015, at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum, 1207 N. Carson St., Carson City. The teapots can be unique in some fashion: quaint, various sizes, elegant or funky.

Teapots on loan will be for display only. Some of the teapots on display will be from the Museum's own collection and are used for Sunday Afternoon Teas, such as those scheduled for August 9 and October 11.

The "Tea" will feature a new menu by Chef Mauricio Leon of Capital Eats, which is located in the Westside Pour House in Carson City. Chef Mauricio has over 15 years of experience and has a passion for creating delicious foods and unique menus, using locally grown produce when they are available.

Carson City man arrested for child neglect after unrestrained toddler falls out of moving car

A 29-year-old man was arrested Monday on gross misdemeanor charges of child neglect and endangerment after the man's unrestrained 18-month old son fell out of a moving car, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

The incident was witnessed by an off-duty Carson City deputy near a gas station in the 2100 block of North Carson Street at around 10 a.m. According to the arrest report, deputies and an ambulance were called to the scene where the off-duty deputy saw the toddler fall out of the car.
