Nevada Humanities has announced the book selections for its statewide 2021 Nevada Reads program. Nevada Reads will feature two memoirs — Miracle Country: A Memoir by Kendra Atleework, and World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments by Aimee Nezhukumatathil.

Partnership Carson City, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and School Resource Officers are working together to offer a certificate to serve and sell alcohol, tobacco or marijuana products in Carson City.

Dear Friends:

I'm not sure what got me thinking about cranberries. After all, cranberries are not a food item you purchase and use regularly.

Happy Thursday Carson City! It's getting chilly out there, and you know there's nothing cozier than a new pup friend to keep your toes nice and warm!

English Language Learners At-Home Program founder Florence Phillips received Nevada's highest volunteer honors with a lifetime recognition award for the all-volunteer, nonprofit Carson City-based program she established.

Carson City’s empty living legend, the Ormsby House, which just celebrated its 20-year anniversary of closure, has apparently found itself a prospective owner. However, the owner in question remains a mystery due to a non-disclosure agreement.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Management, Nevada National Guard and Division of Public and Behavioral Health are partnering to participate in National Preparedness Month to encourage the public to plan for emergencies. Each week an agency will be promoting a variety of awareness and preparedness tips to help keep Nevadans safe. This year’s theme is “Disasters Don’t Wait. Make Your Plan Today.”
