Our socialist healthcare system is predictably out of control with rising costs, lowered services and inevitable bankruptcy for our nation. To solve the artificially created shortages of affordable health care we need to repeal Obamacare (hopefully before it kills too many people) and then we need to restore market incentives to lower the cost of health care using the following ten steps:

I: Eliminate Taxes and deregulate American health care.

II: Increase grants and loans to create more health care doctors and workers.

SILVER CITY, Nev. — Since 2014, Silver City Arts group has hosted music, visual arts, and poetry events and programs. As I write this article, the Electoral College is deciding the route of the American Presidency and of Donald Trump as President-Elect. The Russian ambassador has been shot and killed in Turkey by a fanatic. Another European terrorist attack has taken place in Berlin, Germany, killing at least 12 people and wounding dozens of others during the Christmas shopping season. Back in Aleppo, Syria, the Assad government is finishing off the horrific killings of its own people as well as rescue helpers and hundreds of Christians — many of whom are women and children.

Nevada has been selected as one of eight states to participate in a two-year certified community behavioral health clinic demonstration program designed to improve community services, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Thursday.

The community is invited to attend a Craft Fair and Quartermania, hosted by St. Ann’s Women’s Group and Dayton Valley Lion’s Club, Saturday at Dayton Valley Community Center, 170 Pike St., in Old Town Dayton.

The screening and judging ceremony for the 2016 Carson Creepy Short Horror Film contest will be help this Saturday, October 29th, at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall in Carson City. Competitors were given one week to make a short horror film between 5 and 8 minutes long.

Let’s do the time warp again! This Friday night, Oct. 28 the BAC and PPI will celebrate the season with a screening of the original cult classic musical “Rocky Horror Picture Show” at the BAC Performance Hall. The event begins at 8:30 p.m. with costume contests and activities and the movie will begin at 10 p.m.

Earlier this year, a national “moonshot” to defeat cancer was announced at the State of the Union. I was gratified to see rural cancer care issues included in this conversation. Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah has long emphasized working to ensure that individuals who live in rural areas can access cancer screening, treatment, and prevention resources.

This is challenging work, but thanks to commitment from other high-quality health care organizations, we are improving cancer care in rural communities.
