A Tribute to a Public Servant
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 06/06/2017 - 5:11pmDuring the fall of 1983, my friend - a journalist, columnist, editor, hurmorist, speechwriter and political strategist - Chris Schaller introduced me to a man, he cited, as the smartest politician ever. Tom Fettic. And Christy, as you know, had previously worked with some of Nevada's very best.
Upon Christy's untimely death, in Februrary 1984, Tom was "politically bequeathed" to me for his '84 election to the Carson City Board of Supervisors, his '88 re-election, as well as his '94 election to the Nevada Legislature as our State Assemblyman.

Still Waters Often Run Deep (sponsored)
Submitted by admin on Sat, 07/16/2016 - 4:40pmSusan Crowell, wife of Mayor Bob Crowell of Carson City, is a mixture of strength, forthrightness, and intrigue. Susan is an attractive, well-spoken, well educated, and independent thinking female — both as a wife, mother, and citizen of Carson City. The definition of who she really is lies in her upbringing, her education, her marriage, her children, and in her personal interests. All these components interact to make for a thoughtful woman with a definite mind of her own, yet one who wants the best for others involved in all of these relationships.
Voters Didn’t Get Fooled Again – and They Won’t Next Time, Either
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 06/15/2016 - 2:02pmNevada Republican voters spoke loudly last night. Again.
They spoke loudly in November 2014, voting down a proposed gross receipts tax (GRT) 4-to-1 and sweeping Republicans into control of Nevada’s executive and legislative branches for the first time in generations.
That was a mandate to hold the line on taxes, reform collective bargaining, stop the bleeding in the Public Employees Retirement System, improve schools through choice and other reforms, and especially to oppose the kind of tax 79 percent of voters rejected.
Others saw things differently.

Agenda item #18
To approve Contract No 1415-145B Downtown Carson Project CMAR Construction Services for an amount NOT to exceed $8,123,628.85
The Board Voted 3 to 2
Aye - Crowell, Abowd, Bonkowski
