Carson City Mayor Robert 'Bob' Crowell dies
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 09/12/2020 - 11:05amCarson City Mayor, attorney and Vietnam veteran Robert L. "Bob" Crowell died overnight. He was 74.
Robert L. "Bob" Crowell was a native Nevadan, born in the mining town of Tonopah and raised in Carson City. An attorney by profession, Bob was a Vietnam Veteran and retired Navy Captain. He was elected Mayor of Carson City in 2008 and assumed his duties as Mayor on January 5, 2009. He was re-elected in 2012 and 2016. Prior to being elected Mayor, Bob served 11 years on the Carson City School Board of Trustees.
Remembering Bob Crowell, a tribute (opinion)
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 09/12/2020 - 8:14amA lot of people knew Bob Crowell better and longer than I did. My heart goes out to them all. My heart also goes out to the communities he served. They may not know what they have lost. They have lost a selfless, consensus building and principled advocate.
Bob could sit for hours in rooms with people who righteously argued their positions - talking over one another. Bob would not weigh in. He would listen. Really listen. And then he would find common ground. And things would move forward.
He was a devoted husband. Father. Grandfather. I don’t have the words to speak for their loss.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 10/29/2019 - 12:56pmOver the Nevada Day Weekend, I was sent a copy of an email from a friend and trusted colleague.
