He is the latest to be arrested in connection with the early morning fatal shooting of Grant Watkins near a park in north Carson City.

A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 5:28 a.m. in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after allegedly hitting her daughter with a wood back scratcher on the left side of her face and then punching and kicking her daughter in the stomach. Health District: No measles cases in Washoe County

Washoe County health officials confirmed Friday there are no measles cases in Washoe County. There are six confirmed cases reported in Las Vegas.

All laboratory results for people reported to the Washoe County Health District who were tested for measles have been returned as negative, health officials announced Friday. None of the cases were suspected from the Carson City area.

The Washoe County Health District reports Monday of two possible measles cases including one involving a school student. While laboratory confirmation is pending, symptoms are consistent with measles.
One case is a student attended Spanish Springs Elementary School during the infectious period, according to a news release from the health district.

Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Two jailed on separate felony drug charges

A 20-year-old Carson City man was jailed Thursday, 11:46 p.m. on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine. The arrest came after a reporting witness advised there was a suspicious vehicle in the area of Molly and Millennium streets with occupants inside doing drugs.

Officers located the vehicle and found a man, Jael Alexis Alvarez, walking away from it toward Long Street. The man was ordered to stop walking three separate times before he stopped, the arrest report states.

Carson City sheriff's crime report for Thursday

A 23-year-old transient, Sean Paul McCracken, was arrested Tuesday, 4:05 p.m. at Selby and La Loma streets on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, an officer stopped the vehicle for an expired license tag and made contact with the driver. The officer smelled a light odor of marijuana and asked the man about it. The man told the officer he had a “roach” in the ashtray. The officer asked if that was all he had. The man said yes.

One flown by Care Flight in Highway 50 crash in Dayton

A two-car crash Saturday on Highway 50 in Dayton sent one person to the hospital via Care Flight with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The late afternoon accident tied up traffic on the highway for more than an hour. It happened on Highway 50, east of mile marker 6 and involved two vehicles, a 2002 Saturn View and a 2012 Ford Focus, said NHP Trooper Tappan Cornmesser.

Carson City deputies make four domestic battery related arrests

A husband and wife were arrested Tuesday and face charges of gross misdemeanor child endangerment and misdemeanor domestic violence charges after an incident inside a Agate Drive home.

Arrested were a 43-year-old woman and 45-year-old man. According to the arrest report, officers were called at 8:05 p.m. to a residence on Agate Drive for a report of a domestic battery in progress.

Longtime Carson City businessman, elected leader Pete Livermore dies

Pete Livermore, a longtime Carson City elected leader and business owner, died Monday at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was 73.

Livermore was a Nevada Assemblyman who decided this year that he would not seek re-election. He began in the Assembly District 40 on Feb. 7 2011. Before that, Livermore was a member of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, 1998-2010; was Mayor pro Tem, Carson City, 2004-2006.

A 71-year-old man was arrested Sunday on a felony charge of forgery after he allegedly attempted to pass a phony $50 bill at a casino, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

Roger Coney of Carson City was arrested at 8:18 p.m. in the 3500 block of Highway 50 East. According to the arrest report, the man went to the cashier's cage at a casino in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East to cash in a $50 bill.
