Charters of Freedom Carson City, a permanent installation displaying bronze-plated replicas of the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, was dedicated Thursday afternoon on the Carson City Courthouse plaza, 885 East Musser Street in Carson City.

She’s a grand ole flag, and there will be two ceremonies to recognize the stars and stripes in Carson City today. At 10 a.m. you can join the Nevada National Guard at the Veterans Memorial on the Capitol Grounds for presentation of the colors, speakers, and even cake for the US Army’s anniversary. You’ll find the Elks Club honoring our flag at 3 p.m. The public are invited to both events. The Army isn’t the only birthday you’ll find today; Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery celebrates its seventh year with an artist reception and new work from Denise Jenkins.

A dedication ceremony for the Charters of Freedom Monument will be held at noon on Thursday, June 14 at the Carson City Courthouse plaza, Carson City officials announced. The Charters of Freedom are actual-size replicas of the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Every year, America’s Navy comes home to approximately 15 cities across the country to show Americans why having a strong Navy is critical to the American way of life.

Since 2005, the Navy Week program has served as the Navy’s principal outreach effort into areas of the country without a significant Navy presence, with 210 Navy Weeks held in 74 different U.S. cities. A ceremony to dedicate the new Charters of Freedom installation on the grounds of the Carson City Courthouse will be held Thursday, June 14 from noon to 1 p.m. at 885 East Musser Street in Carson City.

“Shall Article 1 of the Nevada Constitution be amended to require the Legislature to provide by law for the establishment of an open, competitive retail electric energy market that prohibits the granting of monopolies and exclusive franchises for the generation of electricity?”

Who wouldn’t want an open, competitive retail electric energy market? Haven’t monopolies franchised by the government produced many problems? And isn’t market-type reform the answer?

A display of the Charters of Freedom — etched replicas of the United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights — can now be viewed by the public at the Carson City Courthouse located at 885 East Musser Street, said local project organizer Chuck Slavin.

Carson City will be the first location in the western United States to host a permanent display of America’s founding documents, organizers with Carson City Charters of Freedom and Foundation Forward, Inc., have announced.

Democrats, statist liberals, other leftists and their media echo chamber were in full-throated “sky is falling” mode over the Labor Day weekend about the supposed imminent repeal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program by President Trump.

First, note this. When you govern with a “pen and a phone”, as former President Obama so famously did when he could not get what he wanted from Congress, a DACA repeal by order of the next president is a potential result. Governing by executive order works only when the next president is going to follow your lead.

A major battle was fought Saturday night at Mills Park as Union and Confederate forces collided on the big field fronting William Street at the annual Nevada State Fair and Rendezvous in Carson City.

It looks like liberals are now in the business of using billboards to promote their delusions. They have hijacked the truth and put it on Interstate 580 for everyone to see with a billboard making the ridiculous claim that Senator Dean Heller voted to allow companies to purchase your Internet browsing history.

This claim is a far cry from the truth. All the Republican-controlled Congress did is restore the rule of law by repealing the political favoritism of the Obama Administration's regulatory overreach. Your privacy is still intact and the liberals know it.

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval announced Monday his appointments to the Governor’s Committee on Energy Choice. Sandoval named Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison Chairman of the Committee and has brought together a broad range of energy experts, consumer advocates, and stakeholders.

CARSON CITY — The Assembly on Monday voted to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, making Nevada the first state in 40 years to support the addition of the language to the U.S. Constitution.

Our Founders and the classical liberal intellectuals they followed got the basics of government right and thus launched two centuries of freedom and opportunity leading to hope, unprecedented economic growth and astounding human flourishing and wellbeing.

However, a century later a counter movement arose and has continued to gain until now, undermining freedom and opportunity and diminishing hope, growth, wellbeing and flourishing.

Helene de Bossier Swanson, who completed a 7,000 mile spiritual pilgrimage on foot traveling across all 15 states that have not yet ratified the Equal Right Amendment will be staffing the table Wednesday during the International Women's Day, Empowering Women event.

CARSON CITY, NV – Gov. Brian Sandoval announced Monday that he has appointed Lt. Governor Mark Hutchison to serve as Chairman of the Governor’s Committee on Energy Choice. The Governor announced the body’s creation during his biennial State of the State address in January.

On the way to work I passed a couple of people with signs saying “not my president”. I agree with them. Trump is not their president. Trump is my president. I am a citizen of the State of Nevada and I was sorry that Nevada chose to vote for Clinton. I am proud of the States that elected Trump.
