Children not taking part in an organized school event are encouraged to involve their family in safely walking or bicycling to school on that Wednesday and other days.
Carson City Rotary, Muscle Powered team up for work at Secret Trail

The Secret Trail connects Hobart Road with Ash Canyon Road. Rotarians and Muscle Powered worked cutting a new trail that will provide for easier use with less slope.

Free Bike Safety Rodeo with Western Safe Routes to Schools July 18th
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 07/15/2017 - 6:45pmSILVER CITY, NEVADA — Western Safe Routes to Schools will offer a free bike safety rodeo for ages 5-12 on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 from 10am to noon at the Silver City basketball court (next to the town park and School House/community center at 385 High Street).
Kids will learn road rules and safety, and participate in fun bike maneuvers and exercises. They'll receive new bike helmets if they do not have one yet.
The event is part of the town's annual free summer program and is held in partnership with Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties.

“We hope these safety tips help ensure people enjoy riding their bicycles at Lake Tahoe,” said Curtis Fong, vice president of the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition. “This is the greatest and most beautiful place in the world to ride a bike, and we want to help make sure that bicyclists are aware of safe riding practices when bicycling on roadways or bike paths around Lake Tahoe.”
