The 2018 Installation Dinner for the Carson City Republican Women's Club will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Casino Fandango Grand Ballroom. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with a sit down dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are $40 each which include appetizers, salad, entree of salmon and a beef filet, vegetables, dessert and choice of beverages. There will be a cash bar available.

Share Your Christmas Food Drive under way in Carson City

Organizers of the 26th annual KTVN Channel 2 News Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive were set up early at the Governor's Mansion, 606 N. Mountain Street in Carson City, on Friday morning, accepting shelf-stable food and cash donations on behalf of Advocates to End Domestic Violence.

I have long found it impossible to decide which Carson City event is my favorite: forever waffling between Nevada Day and the Taste of Downtown. Advocates to End Domestic Violence heads rural county list of state grant funds awards

The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) has awarded a total of $3.7 million in grant funds from the state's Account for Aid for Victims of Domestic Violence to organizations statewide, including the Carson City-based Advocates to End Domestic Violence(AEDV), which topped the list of rural county recipients with a grant totaling $89,824.
