Save Mart to match in-store donations to Ron Wood Food Bank Friday
Save Mart Supermarkets in Carson City will match in-store donations Friday to the Ron Wood Family Resource Center.
For the past month, Carson City shoppers have been able to donate to Ron Wood at checkout through Save Mart Companies' "Give.Share.CARE! Holiday Drive," said company spokeswoman Nanette Miranda.
But for one special day Friday, Dec. 9, Miranda said donations made at area stores will be matched up to $2,000 for the Ron Wood Family Resource Center food bank.
Shoppers can choose donation coupons at the cash register marked $2 for breakfast, $3 for lunch and $5 for dinner, Miranda said.
Donations are tax deductible and noted on grocery receipts, she said.
During last year’s match day, Miranda said, Save Mart raised $7,299. In an unusual move, Save Mart went above the $5,000 matching cap and matched the entire $7,299.
If shoppers can’t make Friday for matching day, the in-store donation campaign continues until Dec. 27.
