Leilani Bryana Johnson of Carson City was arrested at 5:19 p.m. in the area of Curry and 8th Street following a traffic stop. According to the arrest report, the driver of a vehicle failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of Nevada and Fifth streets. The woman in the passenger seat didn’t have any identifiable information and gave the officer a false name and birthdate. The officers recognized two males in the back seat of the vehicle and contacted a K9 unit, the arrest report states.
The K9 alerted positive to an exterior sniff of the vehicle. Inside a purse belonging to the woman, officers located her identification, a brown checkered pouch that contained two spoons with burnt brown heroin residue, three small “tooter” straws, commonly used to inhale narcotics, a purple container with methamphetamine residue, tinfoil sheets with brown and black burn residue, a blue rubber tourniquet, and a syringe loaded with a liquid substance. Both pouches contained several new and used syringes.
Johnson claimed ownership of all the drug paraphernalia and stated the liquid in the syringe was heroin. Bail: $8,637.
