Carson City sheriff's report: Man booked for allegedly hitting jail inmate
A 28-year-old male inmate at Carson City Jail was booked Monday for suspicion of felony battery by a prisoner, a sheriff's deputy report states.
Calvin Louis Obrien faces the charge following an investigation into the matter, in which he allegedly hit an inmate. Video of the incident shows the suspect having appeared to strike an inmate, the report states.
A jail deputy attempted to interview Obrien but after reading him his Miranda rights. The suspect informed the deputy he did not wish to make any statements. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old transient man was arrested Tuesday in the 2800 block of East Appion Way for a misdemeanor warrant issued Nov. 20, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday in the 2600 block of East Nye Lane for a misdemeanor warrant issued from the Department of Alternative Sentencing on Nov. 13. Bail: $3,000.
