According to the report, Jessie Thomas Archuleta was taken into custody after law enforcement had been dispatched to the area on a residential burglary report.

The reporting party (RP) told Sheriff's deputies she had seen a male and a female subject enter the home througha side window, the report said.

They were still inside the residence when officers arrived, and deputies used a loud speaker to challenge the subjects to exit the home.

No one exited for about five minutes, the report said, until Archuleta appeared. He was directed to exit high risk conditions and detained in handcuffs.

During pat down, deputies felt a solid object inside a jacket pocket. Archuleta said it was a lighter and gave the officer permission to reach in and retrieve the object, the report said.

A small bag containing a white substance was pulled out of the pocket, and Archeluta told officers that the substance was methamphetamine, the report said.

Archuleta told officers that a family member lived at the residence and that he had permission to use the window to enter the residence. The story was later confirmed with the family member.
