Carson City may get nice soaking from Thursday weather system
There's a good chance Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas will see a nice soaking from a weather system moving into the region. The not-so-cold, cold front will provide rain showers with a chance for thunderstorms into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. The highest mountain peaks in the Sierra may get a dusting of snow, especially above 9,000 feet.
Showers will concentrate along the cold front now parked in Central California and moving into the Sierra foothills, according to the weather service. Wet roadways and traffic slowdowns are possible by Thursday morning. The weather service urges motorists to allow for some extra time in the morning commute in case the rain is heavy.
