Early bird signups underway for 2019 Carson City Turkey Trot
Registration is now open for the the 2019 Carson City Turkey Trot, a local holiday tradition where hundreds of runners and walkers, some dressed in Thanksgiving costumes, get in a good fitness workout ahead of their respective family afternoon holiday feasts.
Hosted by St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School, the Carson City Turkey Trot is an event the entire family will enjoy. The Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 event begins on Mountain Street in front of the Governor's Mansion and meanders through the west side of town. Early Bird registration is underway now until Oct. 1 with a $30 fee.
The Turkey Trot offers an 8K (5-mile) run/walk, 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk, plus the Gobble Wobble Kids Fun Run.
— Runners receive a long sleeve event shirt and small swag bag of goodies.
— Pumpkin pies and medals for the top three finishers for male and female for 8k and 5k and pumpkin pies for top 3 in each age division
