Man jailed on felony invasion charge after breaking into day care center, eating bag of chips
A Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning on a felony home invasion charge after he allegedly broke a window of a day care center, entered the facility and ate a bag of potato chips, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Nathan Richardson, 32, was found inside an East Telegraph day care center after deputies were called at 3:52 a.m. on a report of glass being broken in the area. Arriving officers noticed a man inside the day care center in the kitchen area, and the broken window. The man was eating potato chips near the refrigerator, according to the arrest report.
Deputies asked the extremely intoxicated man to exit the building. The director of the center arrived on scene and confirmed the window was not broken and the bag of chips were unopened at the close of business Friday. Bail: $25,000.
In other arrests: Two Carson City residents, Cecilia Felize Garcia and Ashley Rose Mields, were arrested Friday, 9:44 p.m. in the 1900 block of North Edmonds on multiple felony drug charges.
According to the arrest report, a deputy with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team spotted a white Lexus sedan traveling east on Sherman Lane with a non-functioning rear license plate light and a shattered front windshield.
The deputy initiated a stop and made contact with the driver, Garcia and front passenger, Mields. Knowing Garcia has a history of drug use and possession, a K9 was called to the scene and an exterior sniff of the vehicle was done with Garcia’s permission.
During a safety patdown of the woman, officers located a small plastic baggie in the small change pocket of her pants. She was asked what the baggie was and Garcia replied she didn’t know. Also found was a container that contained methamphetamine. Inside the baggy were several small ziplock bags, common in packaging drugs for sale.
The K9 drug sniff had a positive detect and the vehicle was searched for drugs. Officer found a glass pipe with meth residue, two gel caps that contained methamphetamine, and an electronic stun gun device. Mields is a convicted felon with priors for possession with intent to sell, the arrest report states.
Deputies also added charges of possession of a stun gun by a person prohibited to carry one and possession of drug paraphernalia for the pipe, which was found between the passenger seat and the center console.
Both women face felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession for sales. Mields also faces a felony charge for the stun gun and the drug paraphernalia. Garcia’s Bail: $7,500. Bail for Mields: $33,636.
