Eyes on Carson City: Classic, custom car crazy
A pair of classic and custom car shows brought out the chrome and reflective paint on dozens of unique rides featured Saturday in Carson City.
The Karson Kruzers car club displayed some of their vehicles at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, which complemented the street wheels with its own brand of motor car.
Diesel-powered McKeen and Edwards motor cars were both out Saturday giving rides as classic car appreciation extended beyond the asphalt to the rails.
Back for a second year at Carson High School was "A Place To Shine" show and shine fundraiser of the Nevada Rural Housing Association, which uses the money made at this event to help underprivileged youth afford to participate in extracurricular school activities, including sports.
Classic and custom cars, hot rods and street rods crowded the northwest parking lot of Carson High Saturday as part of "A Place To Shine."
Entries competed for trophies in car limbo and sound competitions. The fun also included stunts performed by The Wheel House, bounce houses, raffles, prizes, as well as food and craft vendors.
Amateur boxing bouts by the Carson City Boxing Club were also scheduled for later in the afternoon.
