LuDela to host Adam's Hub happy hour Wednesday to unveil world’s safest, smartest candles
Carson City startup LuDela is inviting the Northern Nevada community to a high tech, candle-lit Happy Hour at the Studio at Adams Hub for Innovation, Wednesday, March 22, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Founder and CEO Jamie Bianchini will demonstrate his groundbreaking technology and the company’s flagship product, the world’s smartest and safest real-flame candle. Bianchini will also discuss the company’s inspiring social mission and make a significant announcement about its future growth.
Featuring unprecedented Wi-Fire technology, LuDela is the first candle to feature a real flame that can be lit, extinguished and controlled via a smartphone and eliminates the need for matches or other fire starters. LuDela also addresses safety and aesthetic concerns that candle burners have faced for centuries, resulting in a safer, more convenient, and hassle-free approach to burning candles that delivers increased peace of mind and enjoyment to users.
“We unveiled our flagship product LuDela Smart last fall, with a pre-order offering on our website that validated market demand for the product and interest in our social mission,” explains Bianchini. “We’ve received hundreds of pre-orders and had incredible interactions with direct customers and potential channel partners alike.”
LuDela’s company structure is as unique as its flagship product. Similar to Tom’s Shoes and Warby Parker, LuDela has giving back deeply ingrained in the company’s DNA. Bianchini was inspired to create smarter candlelight while traveling by bicycle through 22 African countries on an expedition called Peace Pedalers (peacepedelars.com). During a stay at a guesthouse in the fall of 2007, he narrowly escaped from a fire caused by a candle.
“LuDela’s vision is to bring Better Light and Better Lives to both our customers and to those less fortunate,” says Bianchini. “We’re committed to bringing better education and opportunity to those living in extreme poverty. LuDela makes a donation for every Perfect Pillar candle sold, through a non-profit called Solar-Aid.
LuDela is the first company to blend highly disruptive technology with a social venture, a bet Bianchini is hoping will pay off for both the company and the global community. “We’re using our patent-pending technology and first-to-market branding as a vehicle to illuminate the world, one candle at a time,” says Bianchini.
LuDela relocated to Minden, Nevada from the Bay Area in May 2016, attracted to the beauty of the Carson-Tahoe region and advantageous costs of doing business. Later that year, LuDela joined Adams Hub for innovation, a Carson City business incubator located at 111 W. Proctor Street.
“I’ve been coming up to the Sierras since I was a young boy,” reports Bianchini, who wanted his own family to have the same access to the outdoors and better quality of life. “This community has turned out to be the perfect place for us to launch LuDela.”
Community members can RSVP for the LuDela Happy Hour by emailing Hello@LuDela.com, or simply drop by The Studio at Adams Hub for innovation, 177 W. Proctor Street in Carson City, on March 22nd, from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
