Movie Review: 'Just Go With It' is lucky to have Jennifer Aniston in the cast
The romantic comedy "Just Go With It," currently playing at the Fandango Galaxy multiplex in Carson City, is the latest Hollywood genre poke that, though has its moments, chiefly those involving Jennifer Aniston, it is marred by stupid toilet jokes aimed at making kids laugh and a couple of easily disliked young actors.
Adam Sandler gets top billing and he makes a fairly good middle-aged plastic surgeon but Aniston easily upstages him with her easy sense of humor and her classic good looks (she was 42 he day the movie opened Feb. 11).
Plot line (not that it matters much) is Sander was divorced years ago but found his wedding ring a help with landing women. Aniston works for him in his office — she's a single mother with two kids and constantly badgers him.
Sandler meets and makes out with Palmer Dodge on the beach, she finds his wedding ring and shucks him, Sandler then gets an idea to win her back, Aniston to pretend to be his wife, whom he is divorcing, along with her two children as his.
Dan Patrick shows up with Nicole Kidman an they all fly to Hawaii as Sandler's guest.
More of the plot you don't need — it's not that clever and there is some bad moments as when the film makes fun of a gay man. There are some nice moments, all as mentioned involving Aniston, obviously a gifted comic actress. The kids are revolting, the whole thing something of a mess. Nice at times but not the best of the week.
