Carson City area road conditions for Feb. 6
Slick, icy conditions exist for the morning commute around Carson City Wednesday. The Nevada Department of Transportation has posted chains or snow tires required for the following roadways:
— Interstate 580, both directions, through Carson City from the Spooner Junction at South Carson Street and U.S. Highway 50 West to Eastlake Blvd on top of Lakeview Hill. A wind alert cautioning vehicles over nine feet high has also been posted for I-580 through Washoe Valley.
— Old U.S. Highway 395 Alternate from the Washoe County line to mile post 7.22 in Washoe County. A wind alert is also posted, cautioning vehicles over nine feet high.
— U.S. Highway 50 West from the Douglas County line at Spooner Summit to mile post 7.6 in Carson City.
— U.S. Highway 395 from the Douglas County and state line to mile post 31.4 in Douglas County.
— SR 207 (Kingsbury Grade): From the U.S. Highway 50 junction at Stateline to Foothill Road in the Carson Valley.
— SR 28 from the U.S. Highway 50 junction to Crystal Bay.
— SR 341: From mile post 3.0 in Lyon County line to mile post 10.8 in Storey County.
Motorists should use caution and adjust for Winter driving conditions.
