First ever Empty Bowls event to end hunger set for Dec. 6 during Festival of Lights
The inaugural Empty Bowls Project kicks off its campaign for the Carson City area Dec. 6 at the downtown skating rink during the Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights.
Empty Bowls is a grass roots movement to end hunger. Local artists young and old donate handmade bowls. Restaurants donate soup and food. For a minimum $10 donation you choose a bowl and fill it with food.
The artisan bowl is yours to keep as a reminder of the empty bowls in our community. The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. or when the soup runs out.
Your donation helps feed the hungry in the Carson City area.
Tickets are on sale at the following locations:
Carson City Children's Museum
Remedy's Bar
Purple Avocado Restaurant
Comma Coffee Restaurant
FISH (Friends In Service Helping
