Charitable endowment created to benefit Douglas County communities
The Community Foundation of Douglas County has been established as an affiliate fund to the Community Foundation of Western Nevada. Its purpose is to build an unrestricted charitable endowment for the benefit of Douglas County communities. A fund advisory committee of local residents will recommend the annual grants from the invested earning of the endowment.
The Community Foundation of Douglas County encourages:
• Leadership to unite residents with a long-term vision for a vibrant community.
• Philanthropy to provide financial resources for future community needs.
• Engagement with, belonging to, and responsibility for the community you love.
The CFDC is raising money today to meet the needs of Douglas County communities for years to come. Heritage Law Group contributed the first donation to get the CFDC underway. Cassandra Jones, Managing Attorney says, “We are honored to get the Community Foundation of Douglas County started. I became involved on the ground floor, more than two years ago to bring the CFDC to our neighborhoods because I believe it will allow us to give and grow a rich legacy that will affect our community for generations.”
