When it ain't broke, don't fix it.
"I don't think it's a big secret," said Western Nevada College baseball coach D.J. Whittemore after his team dismantled Riverside Community College 10-1 on Wednesday in Riverside. "The pitchers are throwing strikes and we're playing great defense and the hitters are doing a great job putting the ball in play with two strikes."
Jeremy Gendlek pitched eight outstanding innings for WNC which won its eighth straight game to improve to 10-2. The Wildcats also hit three home runs as Jonathan Sigado, Spencer Ofelt and Pat McMeel all belted shots in a ballpark where it's normally difficult to hit homers. "There was a slight bit of a breeze blowing out and the ball was jumping," Whittemore said.
