2024 Taste of Downtown Carson City winners announced
Participating foodies voted and the results are in for the best of Saturday's 2024 Taste of Downtown Carson City.
Celebrating its 29th year and 30 tastes since the first one in 1995, Saturday's event was marked by optimal weather conditions and wonderful support from the community, organizers said. It is hosted by Advocates to End Domestic Violence, Carson City's shelter for domestic abuse victims and families.
The annual downtown Carson City ultimate foodie event drew nearly 2,000 tasters who voted on their favorite stops, among the 29-30 participating booths.
"It was a gorgeous evening, we couldn't have been happier with the turnout and community participation," said Lisa Lee, Director of Advocates to End Domestic Violence. "From the participating restaurants, ticket goers and bands, we are really lucky and grateful the Carson City community comes out to support us as it does every year."
Work is now underway for the official 30th, happening in summer 2025.
The winners are:
Best Taste: Tie for the best taste Eve's Eatery and Red's Old 395
Best Discovery: Lady Griller Catering
Best Beverage: Shoe Tree Brewing Co.
Best Sweets: Scoups Ice Cream and Soup Bar
Best Band: Nevada 445.
Advocates to End Domestic Violence is a private, not-for-profit organization, formed in 1979 by two formerly battered women who saw a need for a domestic violence program in Carson City. The agency has grown from a small two-bedroom apartment, to a full service program that operates a 51-bed shelter and provides a wide variety of services designed to protect and support battered women and their children in the community. A new shelter is expected to open in fall.
