Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada host golf tourney fundraiser for Carson Valley club sites
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada are hosting their Annual Golf Classic for the fourteenth year on June 23 at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club to raise funds for the operations of the Carson Valley Club sites. This year’s golf tournament has brought in over $75,000 for the Clubs.
“This tournament started as a fundraiser for a new Clubhouse in Carson Valley, and we are so excited to show the folks who come out year-after-year to play in our tournament the progress we have made. We are honored to say that we are a short few months away from the Wray Family Clubhouse grand opening in Minden,” said Brett Zunino, the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada.
Alongside Carson Valley Inn and Briggs Electric, there are 20 other Carson Valley & Carson City businesses sponsoring the tournament in support of the Clubs: LP Insurance, Bently Nevada, IBEW Local 401, Carson Tahoe Health, Red Bear Mechanical, the Mike Tice Foundation, Metcalf Builders, BMO, United Federal Credit Union, Casino Fandango, New West Distributing, Lumos & Associates, Legacy Specialties, EMCOR Nevada, Tahoe Supply Company, Rental Guys, Ameritas, The Nevada Appeal & Record-Courier, Unifirst, and Carson Valley Accounting.

Opening in 1993, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada has since expanded to three locations in Carson City, Minden, and Gardnerville, Nevada, currently serving over 1,500 members. In 2024, the Smart Start daycare and preschool program was introduced to provide care for those 3 to 5 years old at our Russell Way Clubhouse with new locations coming in late 2024 and early 2025.
