Pets of the Homeless is a program that provides people in need and pets in need with resources to help their pets. Funds collected go directly to pay for the veterinary, nutritional and other care of pets of homeless individuals across the country.

Carson Valley Medical Center Donates Two AEDs To Douglas High High School Athletics

CVMC primary care provider Jim Gocke, APRN, and CVMC Hospital Foundation board member Nita Schwartz, MD, were on hand to present the devices to Douglas High student athletes and athletic department administration.

Tuesday Evening Conditioning Hike to Carson Tahoe Medical Loop/Wellness Mile hosted by Muscle Powered

Park in the parking lot opposite Pesti Lane on Medical Parkway. We will walk on Medical Parkway all the way around the hospital and on sidewalks in the neighborhood around the hospital.
All hikes start at 5:30 PM. For the winter, these hikes are moving onto paved paths in town and will be 3-5 miles long and with duration of about 1-1/2 hours. Water and sturdy boots or athletic shoes required. PLEASE BRING A FLASHLIGHT because it is dark on these walks.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 10/18/2018 - 4:34pmThe nonprofit Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties is partnering with Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to sponsor a "Prescription Drug Round Up" at Smith’s Grocery in Dayton on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The conveniently located Round Up helps people bring unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal.
Collecting expired and unused medications can prevent damage to the water supply that would otherwise result from flushing them down toilets and drains.
