Restaurants in Carson City will host Valentine’s Day specials on Friday. The Carson City Celtic Music series will be at the Brewery Arts Center on Saturday featuring Fortunate Strangers. Combined with live music and comedy at the Carson Nugget, the Carson City region is in store for a busy three days. Read on for more information.

In classic mythology, the god of love and desire known as Cupid, shoots people with his golden arrows and with this very action the person that was shot has now became filled with uncontrollable desire for someone. The moment I laid my eyes on my gorgeous girlfriend, Edith, I knew that I was shot by cupid, and as our relationship grew my love for her grew as well.

Midweek events include a Dayton chamber breakfast with the founder of the Desert Pigs cleanup nonprofit group. Plus there's the first of 5 days of Valentine-themed festivities that begins at Carson Mall; an open house at Bethlehem Lutheran School, a CASA information hour, a Carson City School District meeting regarding proposed middle school zone modification. Plus there's a yoga class, Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and more.

Muscle Powered will host morning and evening walks, plus there's an assortment of meetings, club gatherings, art showings, a local school board meeting and more. At the end of the day, there's no better way to cap off the evening than by celebrating, with your sweetheart, music about love. The films being screened are from the contestants of the recent "Tell Me You Love Me" Short Romance Film competition. Dinner will be catered in the Grand Ballroom by Bella Vita Bistro.
The audience will have a chance to cast their votes for the Audience Choice Award.

'Tell Me You Love Me' Romance Film Competition open for registration

Starting on Wednesday, Jan. 30, registered filmmakers will have exactly one week to conceive, write, produce and complete a short romance film that’s between 5- and 9-minutes long.
All of the films will be screened at a special dinner and screening event at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City on Valentine's Day.
