Barbecue Ribs and Christianity On A Lazy Summer Day
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 06/28/2014 - 11:48amIt started out as one of those lazy days in Carson City, where it’s not too hot, but it’s not too cold!
It’s just right!
But, when the mercury begins to creep into the triple digits, I am glad I take advantage of the cooler temperatures early in the summer season, because I hate to cook on my patio when it is 100 degrees in the shade!
This is the reason I go straight to my favorite BBQ restaurant for my semi-annual feasting of pork ribs, with corn bread, cole slaw and beans, coupled with my favorite adult libation.

Meet Vance Alm, M.D. Candidate for U.S. Congress at Friday Carson City Town Hall meeting
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 05/13/2014 - 9:08am"Of the people, by the people, for the people"…Lincoln’s statement about the government of the United States of America. It seems that far too many people now fear our government due to the perception that it doesn’t provide for the common man. There is great concern that we are becoming a nation of the corporation, by the corporation and for the corporation. It seems that the individual doesn’t matter, that our voice is absent in the decisions our country makes. Politics now seem to be all about money and placating the special interests.
Did Rollie Die in Vain?
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 05/12/2014 - 12:19amLast year's callous, unnecessary killing of Rollie, the tiny pet dog, at the city animal shelter justifiably ignited community outrage. Cliven Bundy And His Followers Are Not Patriots!
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 04/27/2014 - 12:16pmI am always amused by those individuals who attach themselves to the United States Constitution in such a way as to be literal in its interpretation, wrap themselves in the Flag of our Nation, and call themselves “true patriots” and the defenders of our “rights and liberties”.
Apparently, if I disagree with their definition of “true patriotism” then I am something less than a citizen or patriot incapable of defending our “rights and liberties”.
