Several trees vandalized near South Lake Tahoe beach

South Lake Tahoe Police are looking for the person or persons responsible for vandalizing nine trees on city property near Regan Beach over the weekend.

Incline Village firefighters in Carson City for training knock down brush fire near Highway 50

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Monday afternoon to a brush fire near Highway 50 east in the 3900 block. However, a Lake Tahoe fire truck from Incline Village, that happened to be in the area for training, was able to knock it down without major spread.

Going into Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 it is Veterans Day. Federal, state and local government offices and schools are closed to observe the holiday. Thank you U.S. Veterans for your service to our great country. NHP: Crash shuts down east and westbound US 50 traffic near Glenbrook at Lake Tahoe

UPDATE: NHP said it had all lanes cleared at 7:45 p.m. Sunday. The cause of the two-vehicle crash is under investigation.

The Nevada Highway Patrol reports a serious injury crash late Sunday afternoon has shut down both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 50 near Tall Pines Road in the Glenbrook area at Lake Tahoe.

Join South Lake Tahoe’s Sugar Pine Foundation and Patagonia at Historic Bowers Mansion Wednesday, Nov. 13th from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. in the reseeding of sugar pine seedlings to the burn scar of the Little Valley Fire, which devastated nearly 2,300 acres and destroyed 23 homes in October of 2016.

Carson City man arrested for carrying suspected white-supremacist dangerous weapon

On Friday evening, Special Enforcement Team deputies were patrolling in the area of Carson Street and Robinson Street when they observed a green pickup truck traveling northbound on Carson Street, and saw that the driver was using his cellphone.

In addition, according to the report, the right tail lamp of the vehicle was broken and the license plate light was not functioning.

Carson Tahoe Health, Rotary of Carson City celebrate Labyrinth anniversary and partnership

Wednesday marks 13 years since the opening of the outdoor Labyrinth located at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. The unique space was made possible through a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Carson City.

In 2006, under the leadership of past president Rafael Cappucci, the Rotary Club contributed $75,000 to build the Labyrinth, and gave another $200,000 in support of the Cancer Center project over a four-year period.

Senator Square: Student reflects on Carson High School girls golf season

Editor’s Note: Sarah Wiggins is a CHS sophomore, athlete, NHS member, Leadership member, Blue Crew member, and HOSA Future Health Professional member.

The 2019 season for CHS girls golf was a great experience for everyone on the team. This year, the team was comprised of five girls: Karen Beglin, Sophia Taggart, Karrina Ferris, Brooke Gudmundson, myself, and our coaches, Wade Greenlee and Jack Butler.

Sierra Lutheran High School's Hansen wins Northern 2A Cross Country Title

Teagan Hansen ran a 16:58 5K Saturday at Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno and easily won the Northern 2A Title. Nick Pietzke of Incline was second 10 seconds behind Hansen.
