The 2019 Vacancy Study for Carson City has been released, showing a growing trend of low vacancies, especially in multi-family residential complexes and industrial space.

According to the study, however, there are several projects either underway or waiting for approval, including new apartment complexes, industrial buildings, school expansions, a dog boarding facility, and more.

CARSON CITY — Beginning Monday, May 6, the Nevada Department of Transportation will launch multiple projects to install pedestrian traffic safety improvements in Carson City, Dayton and Gardnerville. Here's what NDOT will be working on in the coming days and weeks ahead:

A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of multiple felony counts, including burglary, vehicle burglary and possession of stolen property, a sheriff's deputy reported.

Single lane closures will be in place on U.S. 50 in areas between Carson City and Spooner summit beginning April 25 as the Nevada Department of Transportation enhances storm drainage to help preserve water quality and reduce erosion.

Today, Friday April 12, a public review and workshop regarding the new South Carson Street project, including a new roundabout, is being held at the Studio at Adam’s Hub from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., located at 177 W Proctor Street.

The 60 percent roundabout design along with surrounding design elements will be on display, and forms for public can be found for residents to voice their opinions about the designs.

From library presentations, a TV show casting call at the Carson Nugget, an afternoon hike, to a train history presentation, a book signing at the Brewery Arts Center, a CHS theater performance and the Carson City movie screening premier of "The Mustang" filmed at the historic Nevada State Prison, there's something for everyone. A 59-year-old man was arrested on two counts suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following an incident that happened at a North Carson Street motel, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Nevada Builders Alliance, the state’s largest construction and building trade association, will hold a first nail ceremony for the Bank Saloon in Carson City on Monday, April 15. Formerly known as the historic Jack’s Bar, the alliance purchased the building with a vision to pay homage to its colorful history.
