Investigation shows suspect in fatal Carson City apartment shooting fired revolver twice

A preliminary investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office into the Nov. 1 fatal shooting of an armed man inside a Carson City apartment complex by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper shows at least two shots that were fired by the suspect before law enforcement arrived and a dash cam patrol video of the moments leading up to the shooting.

First, let's begin with the simple fact that all gun control measures, actual or proposed, are prima facie unconstitutional. Why? Because the Second Amendment plainly says "… the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Three State Ballot Measures We Oppose

Last week we discussed the state ballot measure that would legalize the recreational use of marijuana in Nevada. We have mixed views on that issue, but there are three other important state ballot questions we oppose.

Question 1 would require background checks for almost all gun sales or transfers. That might sound harmless enough or maybe even beneficial to some folks. But it’s quite the opposite.

A 34-year-old Carson City man wanted by Yuba County, Calif., authorities for suspicion of attempted murder, was taken into custody Wednesday, a Carson City deputy said.

The Clear Creek Bowmen are holding their annual Turkey Shoot October 16th 2016.
Location: Centennial Park Archery Range
To clear up what is usually the first question asked: No we are not shooting at live turkeys.
You will be, however, shooting at 35 3D targets, it’s unmarked yardage, but range finders are ok.
This is a “fun shoot.” The prizes will be turkeys and they will be awarded on the flight system. All Cubs and Pewees will receive a game hen.
Registration is from 7:30-8:45 am. Shooting will begin at 9:00 am.

Fire restrictions in Western Nevada to be lifted Friday; Carson City restrictions to remain in place

Fire restrictions on public land in Western Nevada, in place since June 30, will be lifted this Friday, Sept. 30, agency managers announced Wednesday. The Carson City Fire Department, however, has no intention at this time of lifting fire restrictions within the city limits.

Carson City Sheriff's Office serves search warrants from Carson City, Yuba City

Carson City Sheriff’s investigators and California authorities were involved in serving interstate property search warrants out of Yuba City, Calif., and Carson City on Sunday.

They served two property searches in Carson City related to a recent alleged gang-related shooting in Yuba City that injured one, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
