Suspects sought in shooting, armed robbery at Fernley restaurant

Lyon County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men who shot and seriously injured a person Thursday night in an apparent robbery at the Wigwam Restaurant Casino in Fernley.

Spring is what you make of it. It’s not going to be that warm today, but it’ll be dry, so embrace the day. Tuesdays are for hiking and biking in Carson. The morning easy walk will take you from Mills Park to the Capitol and the afternoon conditioning hike will give you well-deserved views from C-Hill. Now that we’ve warmed up some, the Tuesday evening ladies’ ride in Ash Canyon has started up again: don’t forget your helmet. Congratulations to Mile High Jazz Band for 16 years of monthly concerts at Comma Coffee. Enjoy a night of great music, yummy drinks, and a birthday cake to celebrate.

Every Tuesday evening, 5:30 to dusk, the Clear Creek Bowmen host their Tuesday Night Archery Shoots at the Centennial Park Archery Range.
Both traditional and 3D targets are available.
The target range is open shooting for use at no cost. There is a $5.00 fee (kids 17 and under are free) to shoot the 3D animal targets.
We have archery equipment, volunteers and instructors to get you started. Come on out and join us.
It’s a great way to experience the world of archery. Open to all ages.

NDOW: Wolf sighted in Northwestern Nevada

A wolf from the Shasta Pack in Northern California was spotted near Fox Mountain in northwestern Nevada in early November, 2016. Nevada Department of Wildlife personnel investigated the sighting after being alerted to a video recording of the apparent wolf.

Reno man charged in threats against Carson City judge after matching DNA confirmed

The man believed to be responsible for shooting at and attempting to firebomb the home of a Carson City judge and sending him a threatening Christmas card in the mail has been formally charged for the crimes, officials announced Tuesday.

Douglas County authorities investigate Topaz Ranch Estates shooting

UPDATE: The Douglas County Sheriff's Office acknowledged Tuesday that it had erroneously reported that a man had died from a shooting at Topaz Ranch Estates in south Douglas County.

The man, Michael Dixon, 50, suffered a life threatening gunshot wound and was taken by air ambulance, where he is at Renown Medical Center in Reno.

At 6:46 pm the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a call from 1205 Slate Road in Topaz Ranch Estates in southern Douglas County of two victims with gunshot wounds.

Three Carson City men enter guilty pleas Friday in 2016 drug robbery and murder

UPDATE 5:15PM: Daniel Lease, the sixth person involved with the murder investigation of 18-year-old Grant Watkins, entered a guilty plea late Friday of felony compounding crimes, which is receiving compensation for concealing a crime.
He was originally charged with accessory to murder and accessory to robbery. This is a category D felony.

Jacob Huttman and Jonathan Skenandore, both involved in the January 2016 homicide of an 18-year-old man during a drug sale and robbery, entered guilty pleas of second degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery in a Carson City courtroom Friday. Reed Haber Skenandore III entered a guilty plea late Tuesday afternoon.
