Carson City Sheriff's Office serves search warrants from Carson City, Yuba City
Carson City Sheriff’s investigators and California authorities were involved in serving interstate property search warrants out of Yuba City, Calif., and Carson City on Sunday.
They served two property searches in Carson City related to a recent alleged gang-related shooting in Yuba City that injured one, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
Property search warrants were issued at a Tanglewood Village Apartment House address on Roop Street, and also at Nautical Customs, a motorcycle shop located on Highway 50 East.
Law enforcement breached entry into both locations, Furlong said.
These were property searches only, he said. No arrests have been made in Carson City. The case remains under investigation. The searches were not associated with the motorcycle rider who was shot dead Saturday near Truckee, said Furlong.
The gang involved in the alleged shooting has been identified as a motorcycle gang, the sheriff said.
Tactical units were employed in Carson City, and a SWAT team was used in Yuba City, the operations occurring simultaneously.
Search warrants are sealed, Furlong said, so the content of the search is unknown.
However, a newer model Jeep sedan was being towed away from the Tanglewood Village residence Sunday afternoon.
