NV Energy reports power outages throughout Carson City, Tahoe and Western Nevada
Severe weather, high winds, heavy rain, snow and flooding are causing multiple outages throughout northern Nevada including Carson City, Douglas County and Lake Tahoe.
NV Energy crews are on scene or in route to work on restoring power to all customers as quickly and as safely as possible.
As of 2 p.m. there were five outages in the Carson City area with 54 customers without power. In Douglas County, there were 12 outages with 597 customers without power. In Lyon County, four outages were reported with 21 customers not having electricity; in Storey County, 2 outages affecting 66 customers and in Washoe County, 26 outages reported affecting 4,759 customers.
During Tuesday’s white out and blizzard conditions in Lake Tahoe, NV Energy says it had limited access to its equipment and power lines. The utility currently has multiple crews in the Lake Tahoe area that are trouble shooting and making repairs.
Please consider any downed power lines as live and dangerous and remain a safe distance from them. Report any downed lines or outages to NV Energy or call 9-1-1.
