Happy Saturday Carson City, and Happy Winter Solstice! Are you all geared up for the holiday season? We've got some great events happening this weekend throughout the region, check them out below!

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include a toy and gift drive for homeless kids and teens, the 12th annual Christmas Carol Playalong for Strings at the Carson Mall, Carson City’s first-ever "Unsilent Night" at the Brewery Arts Center, a Só Sol dinner with entertainment at Sassafras, a "Pink Party" cancer center fundraiser at the Lighthouse Bar, comedian Dan St. Paul at the Carson Comedy Club and more.

This Sunday, Dec. 22 at 4 p.m. Come down to Sassafras in Carson City and spend an early evening with Só Sol. Get ready for some of the best folks, food, drinks, hot springs and songs one could ever ask for. This is a free show. All ages welcome.

Clouds will roll into the capital city region Tuesday keeping temperatures quite chilly. Happenings around town include organized morning and evening fitness walks, a "Stuff the Bus Toy Drive" at Capital Ford, a Planning Commission meeting on the proposed Andersen Ranch development and a Posada event at Mark Twain Elementary. Plus, the Carson City School Orchestra Program will hold its annual Holiday Concert at the community center, The Peanuts Gang Trio will hold a free holiday concert at Sassafras, and more.

Sassafras presents a very special FREE holiday event featuring The Peanuts Gang Trio. Playing the music of Vince Guaraldi and more. Arrive early for a good seat and some of the best food this side of the Rockies. ALL AGES encouraged!

For the past five years the Carson City Classic Cinema Club has been showing the great 'Golden Age of Hollywood' films to local moviegoers as a way to promote art education in the community. The club's founder notes its acceptance thus far has been slow going but, so far, successful.

Tiffani Barber was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer on Dec. 8, 2012. For those who did not know Tiffani, all she ever wanted to do was help people. She carried water and snacks in her car to give to the homeless and people less fortunate than her.

As we head into the final stretch of the week, events around the Carson City region are lined up for the next three days, including museum activities, outdoor concerts, a car cruise Friday at Carson Mall, athletic events, a Carson High School class of 1979 reunion, the Taste of Downtown on Saturday and much more.

The Fifth Annual Sassabration, Carson City’s Pride event and fundraiser, was held Saturday at Sassafras along with Shoe Tree Brewing Co. and the Carson City Hot Springs.

The day began with a parade beginning at the Brewery Arts Center and ending at Sassafras. Vendors, entertainers, musicians and attendees gathered in the heat of another hot desert summer day to raise funds for a great cause.

Good morning Carson City and happy Saturday! Today we’ve got a packed day of activities, including Carson City’s Proudest Pride event, Sassabration! In addition, we’ve got the Capital City Kid’s Triathlon, the farmers market, a Carson Street car show, and more!

Carson City’s own Shoe Tree Brewing Company will be hosting a show-and-beer-release party on July 20 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Popular punk band The Lucky Eejits will be headlining the show along with a release of “The Lucky Eegits out of Time Beer” release.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events and activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by. On Friday, Muscle Powered will host a morning walk at the Carson City Multi-Use Path at 8 a.m. And there's coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum.

This week's edition of It's Your City features Adam Whitney, filling in for host Cortney Bloomer, with special guest Jayme Watts, owner of Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint in Carson City and co-founder of this Saturday's annual Sassabration.

Carson City’s Pride event “Sassabration” is back this Saturday with a full line up of bands, vendors, food, family-friendly activities and more!

Hosted by Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint, the annual event is back for its 5th year and begins at 11 a.m. with a parade at the Brewery Arts Center, located at 449 West King Street. Cars, Rollerskaters, Pirate Ship Sailors and Walkers are invited to participate!

Good morning Carson City, and happy Saturday! It'll be a bit warmer than yesterday with a high of 86 and a low of 51, and you can expect a bit of a breeze with 13 mph winds.

There's a lot going on today in our beautiful Capital City, with day two of Epic Rides, the Carson City Airport Open House and Wing Cook-off, the farmer's market, a youth expo, and more.

There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, plus the Nevada State Museum will host 2 behind the scenes tours in natural history and anthropology. Plus, the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road kicks off its three-day event with a Capital 15 Fun Ride and Free Clunker Crit Ride. Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

Heading into Thursday, June 27, 2019, there's plenty to do and see around the Carson City area as we march toward an action-packed weekend. There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park, a Farmers Market in Dayton, a discussion on climate change at Western Nevada College, a history presentation on Chinese woodcutters at the Nevada State Museum, a presentation by the NNDA Executive Director at a GOP monthly meeting, Cruise Night at Wing Stop, an information meeting on the Ross Gold Park master plan hosted by Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space. Carson City is just one area that is noticing a worldwide trend of labor shortages in restaurants, and due to that shortage, several locally-owned eateries are being forced to reduce the number of days they're open during the week, or stop serving dinner.

Heading into the weekend, there's a bevy of events around the Carson City region that brings a cool breeze to the first three days of summer. The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

Celebrate with the final day of the Stewart Father's Day Powwow, a bike ride with Muscle Powered, a tasty brunch hosted by the Carson City Emblem Club or a southern-style brunch, bingo and comedy fundraiser in the spirit of the late comedian Bea Arthur at Sassafras. In this week's edition of It's Your City, host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Ken Farley of the Brewery Arts Center to talk about the upcoming Levitt Amp Concert Series, its 4th year in Carson City.

The Levitt Amp Concert Series is fast becoming a Carson City tradition. The concert is voted on in a national competition by Carson City residents to have the concert funded by Levitt Amp, making it free for all concert goers.

In addition, It’s Your City talks Epic Rides, now in its third year, as well as Brewfest.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint will kick-off Father’s Day in Carson City during its fifth annual Sassabration fundraiser event featuring Brunch and Bingo with Bea Arthur, a tribute to the late comedy actress, singer and activist Bea Arthur on Sunday, June 16 at 11 a.m.

Hello Carson City. It is Thursday, June 13, 2019. After last night's thunderstorms that shook around the capital city we're looking at plenty of sunshine today with a daytime high around 86. Activities lined up include workshops, an anniversary party and showing at Artsy Fartsy art gallery, Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park, a Kiwanis Club meeting and Chamber annual meeting at The Martin Hotel, Cruise Night at Bully's Sports Bar, live music outdoors at Living the Good Life and more. Enjoy.

On April 27th, there was a Fundraiser and Silent Auction to help raise money for my wife who is battling Stage IV cancer. There is no chemo or radiation involved because doctors said those treatments would do more harm than good. For this reason, my insurance pays nothing toward her treatment. We also have a $7,000 deductible.

The fundraiser turned out to be a great success and we wanted to thank the many businesses who donated gift cards or items to the Silent Auction.

Who hasn't been enjoying life at home without the air conditioner or swamp cooler running? Sooner or later that will change, but for now, enjoy the moment. Heading into Thursday, May 30, 2019, you can take a bike ride with local dignitaries or stroll through the capital grounds. If you're a job seeker there's an employment fair at Max Casino. Winding down the day there's an afternoon hike in the hills; the rev of engines highlights the return of Carson City's Thursday night car and truck cruises, and ... Elvis will be in the house at Living the Good Life Nightclub, Bistro and Lounge. Enjoy!
