Events include a toy and gift drive for homeless kids and teens, the 12th annual Christmas Carol Playalong for Strings at the Carson Mall, Carson City’s first-ever "Unsilent Night" at the Brewery Arts Center, a Só Sol dinner with entertainment at Sassafras, a "Pink Party" cancer center fundraiser at the Lighthouse Bar, comedian Dan St. Paul at the Carson Comedy Club and more.

Happenings around town include organized morning and evening fitness walks, a "Stuff the Bus Toy Drive" at Capital Ford, a Planning Commission meeting on the proposed Andersen Ranch development and a Posada event at Mark Twain Elementary. Plus, the Carson City School Orchestra Program will hold its annual Holiday Concert at the community center, The Peanuts Gang Trio will hold a free holiday concert at Sassafras, and more.

Carson City Classic Cinema Club rallies for kids by bringing 'Golden Age' films to community

The club's founder notes its acceptance thus far has been slow going but, so far, successful.
Carson City family keeps Tiffani and Bailee's annual Sealed Toy Drive alive in memory

For those who did not know Tiffani, all she ever wanted to do was help people. She carried water and snacks in her car to give to the homeless and people less fortunate than her.

5th Annual Sassabration Pride and Fundraiser beats the heat

The day began with a parade beginning at the Brewery Arts Center and ending at Sassafras. Vendors, entertainers, musicians and attendees gathered in the heat of another hot desert summer day to raise funds for a great cause.

Shoe Tree Brewing Co. to host punk show and beer release party July 20

Popular punk band The Lucky Eejits will be headlining the show along with a release of “The Lucky Eegits out of Time Beer” release.

There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, plus the Nevada State Museum will host 2 behind the scenes tours in natural history and anthropology. Plus, the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road kicks off its three-day event with a Capital 15 Fun Ride and Free Clunker Crit Ride. Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

The Levitt Amp Concert Series is fast becoming a Carson City tradition. The concert is voted on in a national competition by Carson City residents to have the concert funded by Levitt Amp, making it free for all concert goers.
In addition, It’s Your City talks Epic Rides, now in its third year, as well as Brewfest.

There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

After last night's thunderstorms that shook around the capital city we're looking at plenty of sunshine today with a daytime high around 86. Activities lined up include workshops, an anniversary party and showing at Artsy Fartsy art gallery, Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park, a Kiwanis Club meeting and Chamber annual meeting at The Martin Hotel, Cruise Night at Bully's Sports Bar, live music outdoors at Living the Good Life and more. Flat Earth Pizza fundraiser big success
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 06/06/2019 - 6:06pmOn April 27th, there was a Fundraiser and Silent Auction to help raise money for my wife who is battling Stage IV cancer. There is no chemo or radiation involved because doctors said those treatments would do more harm than good. For this reason, my insurance pays nothing toward her treatment. We also have a $7,000 deductible.
The fundraiser turned out to be a great success and we wanted to thank the many businesses who donated gift cards or items to the Silent Auction.

If you're a job seeker there's an employment fair at Max Casino. Winding down the day there's an afternoon hike in the hills; the rev of engines highlights the return of Carson City's Thursday night car and truck cruises, and ... Elvis will be in the house at Living the Good Life Nightclub, Bistro and Lounge. Enjoy!
