American Red Cross, Northern Nevada rural counties partner for emergency response exercise

In order to practice and ensure the safety of our residents, the Red Cross of Northern Nevada, in collaboration with emergency management from Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties, will set up two simulated shelters next month.

Youth Theatre Carson City Brings Home National Awards and Recognitions at Musical Theatre Competition

Plus there's the first of 5 days of Valentine-themed festivities that begins at Carson Mall; an open house at Bethlehem Lutheran School, a CASA information hour, a Carson City School District meeting regarding proposed middle school zone modification. I feel like I’m being given a life lesson in what’s important, what’s crucial, and what keeps me smiling. Oddly enough, they are not all one in the same. Yet, they all have something in common.

Washoe County coroner: High school student deaths investigated as possibly drug related

While the cause of death has not been determined for either student, the Office says the deaths are being investigated as possibly drug-related.

This started the process which has now led her to open Nobility Trauma Clean-Up LLC, which serves the tri-county regions of Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County in crime scene cleanup, trauma cleanup, meth-lab decontamination, hoarding, and more.

Events include the monthly downtown Carson City wine walk, plus karaoke at Bella Vita Bistro and Y-NOT Saloon. The Forest Service begins its first “Ski With a Ranger” at Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort on Friday. Combined with championship football festivities on Sunday, the Silver State is in store for a wild, good time.

From Feb. 12 through Feb. 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visit inside the mall and make a Valentine for a loved one. Then, make another Valentine for a Senior that will be delivered to local retirement homes.
On Feb. 15 Carson Mall will host Family Bingo Night. Proceeds will benefit Carson High School’s Safe and Sober Grad Night.

Carson City man arrested for battery, obstruction following living room brawl
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 01/25/2020 - 11:48amA 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3400 block of Harvard Way Friday evening for battery and obstructing after he allegedly fought with his wife's coworker in their living room.
According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the residence in report of a fight in progress. The reporting party was the man's wife and the other person in the fight was her co-worker, according to the report, and both were "highly intoxicated."

The State of the City address is a way community members can be kept up to date on everything going on in our capital city, including achievements, challenges, and everything in between.
Updates included achievements such as the completion of the water pipeline from Douglas County to Carson City, the Complete Streets Project, Tesla’s grant for the Carson City School District, the first new park opening in 12 years, the opening of the Disc Golf course, and more.
