Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man jailed for meth possession following warrant arrest

A 24 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 1:50 a.m. in the 3700 block of South Carson Street on felony methamphetamine possession, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and an outstanding misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

The Carson High School senior class of 2019 arose early, not an easy task for a high school student, to celebrate the rising of the sun on this their final year of high school. Bobby Brooks Wilson enjoying ride of his life

As he entered an elevator, Bobby Brooks was thrilled to be headed to a special meeting. He had taken a new career path as an entertainer that led him to Atlantic City for a two-week run of shows. The legendary Four Tops were playing in the same Bally’s casino and had seen Brooks’ show. They were so intrigued they wanted to meet him.

“I came up there all excited saying, ‘I am going to get to meet the Four Tops!’ ” said Brooks, who was unaware of the motive of the two original Four Tops members.

That elevator led to the ride of a lifetime.

Carson City homeless in need of socks, sleeping bags

During the winter, the homeless population of Carson City can find warm beds to sleep at our rotating local churches nightly, but during the summer, no such places exist.

This is why Carson City Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Craig LaGier, who is also a deacon for St. Teresa of Avila’s Catholic Church, as well as the St. Vincent Advisor and Homeless Ministry, said sleeping bags and Y Athletic socks are the most important item he gives to the homeless.
