Construction crew douses small brush fire on Highway 50 East in Carson City
A construction crew was able to knock down a small brush fire that started Tuesday afternoon at a Highway 50 East work site, according to the Carson City Fire Department.
At around 12:45 p.m., the fire department and Carson City sheriff's deputies were called to a reported brush fire on the north side of the highway past the Deer Run and Arrowhead stoplight on Highway 50 East.
However, a construction crew working nearby had the flames extinguished by the time firefighters arrived. The fire was caused by sparks from a grinding wheel the construction crew was using, according to the CCFD battalion chief on scene.
