Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man jailed for meth possession following warrant arrest

A 24 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 1:50 a.m. in the 3700 block of South Carson Street on felony methamphetamine possession, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and an outstanding misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, Harley Dean Rough was taken into custody after he had been stopped and questioned by a sheriff's deputy performing a routine business check.
Rough had been recognized by law enforcement from prior contacts. A records check was made through Carson City Dispatch, which confirmed an active bench warrant issued out of Elko Township for failing to comply with sentencing, the report said.
He was handcuffed at that point and arrested. But during a search of Rough, a meth pipe containing a testable amount of meth was recovered. He was then transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,500.
In other arrests:
— A 20 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 1:59 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor first-offense driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the area on report of a possible DUI driver, who a witness had reportedly observed failing to maintain a travel lane and nearly driving onto the sidewalk multiple times.
The suspect vehicle was observed pulling into a restaurant parking lot, where a traffic stop was made. Upon making contact, law enforcement observed the suspect appeared "extremely lethargic" and "very intoxicated," the report said.
He exhibited slurred speech during the contact and an odor of alcohol could be smelled coming from the suspect's vehicle, the report said.
The suspect stated he had one drink before driving to the restaurant to get some food. He consented to field sobriety tests (FSTs), which the suspect failed to perform satisfactory and showed signs of impairment.
He refused a preliminary breath test (PBT), but evidence from the scene at that point indicated the suspect had been driving impaired, the report said.
The suspect was handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $1,000.
— Two men, a 22 year-old from Minden and a 23 year-old from Dayton, were arrested Friday morning at 4:38 and 4:52 a.m., respectively, in the 1900 block of North Carson Street on misdemeanor charges, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was performing a routine business check of a gaming establishment when contact was made with a subject from Dayton identified as being an active Nevada Department of Parole and Probation client.
Terms of his release included not entering a bar or lounge. The suspect was observed to be seated in an establishment that served alcohol. Nevada Parole and Probation was notified by Carson City Dispatch, and it requested the suspect be arrested for violation of his court-ordered terms and conditions, the report said.
Contact was also made with the suspect's friend, identified as a Minden man who at first was attempting to falsely identify himself with law enforcement. One positively identified, a records check was run on the Minden man, who had a confirmed active bench warrant issued by Walker River Justice Court for failing to appear on traffic violations.
Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. The Dayton man processed into jail on a parole and probation hold, while the Minden man was booked on $1,080 bail.
