After a 35 mile bike ride from Lake Tahoe, the Journey of Hope made a brief stop Friday at Western Nevada College in Carson City. A group of 29 cyclists from Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity were welcomed by dozens of volunteer organizations throughout the community.

The weekend hasn’t even started, and I’m already exhausted just trying to decide what to do first! Live music, races, activities, and much more await you downtown as part of the Carson City Off-Road. Stewart Indian School is awash in bright colors, beadwork, and dancers from all across the country during their annual Fathers’ Day Pow Wow. They’re back. Since 2014, Western Nevada College has hosted a group of philanthropic-minded cyclists who travel across the country to help people with disabilities.

Planes, trains, and automobiles take over Carson City this weekend. Steampunk ‘N’ Trains at the Nevada Railroad Museum features train rides, fun costumes, food trucks and more. You’ll find two car shows in town – the Party at the Pavilion as part of the Nevada State Fair and the Carson City Downtown Revival Car Show at the Carson Nugget. After Tahoe's July Fourth festivities, our beaches are thrashed with trash, which can hurt wildlife and lake clarity. Each year, hundreds of Tahoe residents and visitors turn out for our largest cleanup of the year to remove litter from our beaches. Help Keep Tahoe Blue by joining a beach cleanup site!

Honor Flight Nevada is hosting the High Sierra and Nevada Capitol Regional Chili Cook Offs at Glen Eagles Restaurant, Saturday July 8 and Sunday July 9.

The winner of the Chili Cook Offs and the winner of the Salsa competition continue on to the National Cook Off. People's Choice Chili competition is open to enter for free and is judged by all in attendance. Trophy and bragging rights to the winner.
