Saturday features fruits and veggies, arts and more in historic downtown Carson City
The Third and Curry Farmers Market returns this Saturday morning to its regular spot behind the McFadden Plaza. For the rest of the summer season, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. the award-winning market brings all sorts of goodies to downtown Carson City.
Whether you fancy fresh berries, crisp corn, or home-grown honey, you’re sure to find a booth serving up your desires. Grab a cup of joe from the Comma Coffee booth, or just hang out and listen to the featured musical artist and you are bound to run into a friend or neighbor. Keep an eye out for the Muscle Powered banner and you’ll have a safe place to park your bike while you peruse.
New this year is the Carson City Arts and Antiques Faire in the parking lot right next door. At the corner of Second and Curry Street, gallery owners Robin and Rich McGregor welcome local artists to show their work. Step inside the gallery and you’ll find over 45 local artists displayed throughout. Every Saturday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. you’ll have the chance to meet local artists and take home something new to love.
Due Sorella’s Annual Spring Vintage Fair begins at 9 a.m. and can be found in the parking lot at Musser and Nevada Streets until 3 p.m. Hunt for treasures outside and enjoy a store-wide sale, as well.
Meanwhile, the Nevada Arts Council, the Adams Hub for Innovation, and the Carson City Visitors Bureau invite you to an 'ARTrepreneur' Pop-Up Gallery Event on Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Adams Hub for Innovation at 111 W Proctor Street (entrance at corner of Curry Street.)
29 Northern Nevada artists have participated in a month-long workshop addressing the business of art, learning how to make our passion pay our bills. This is our special day to put those skills to work. Come join us for a day of visual art, music, performance, jewelry, fan-art, and more.
The exhibition venue is participating in Carson City's monthly Downtown Business Association Wine Walk, so be sure to buy your wrist band to enjoy the wine.
The artists will be on hand during exhibit hours, and live music will be playing. Representatives from The Union, the new brewpub owned by Mark Estee and Mark Trujillo, will be pouring wine at The Studio,117 W. Proctor St.
The Downtown Business Association’s monthly wine walk finally gets to enjoy some sunny weather. The wine walk runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and you can sign up at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Touched by Angels, Comma Coffee, or inside the Artisan Shop of the Brewery Arts Center. Don't forget to turn in your raffle ticket and vote for your favorite stop. The raffle will be at Alatte in the Carson Nugget at 5 p.m.
For $15 participants will receive a commemorative wine glass to use at over 30 downtown businesses. With paid admission you will receive a hand stamp, glass, map of participating stops, and a chance to win raffle prizes. Bring a previous month’s wine glass for a discount.
