There are several housing developments for Carson City currently in different stages of review, and one such development is the Andersen Ranch Development, named for the Andersen family who has farmed the Carson City region since the 1870s. This new development is not to be confused with Buzzy’s Ranch on the eastern side of Carson City, also named for the Andersen family.

Gardnerville, Nevada’s only vintage pop-up shop for their 5th Annual Artisans & Antiques Festival. This year’s outdoor festival is Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1235 Eddy Street in the heart of the Main Street Gardnerville District. The event includes 55+ local vendors featuring a variety of handmade items, vintage furniture and decor. Plus, an array of delicious food and drinks will be available for your stroll down Eddy Street.

CARSON CITY — June employment in Nevada is up 45,500 over the year, although the number of jobs decreased by 4,000 over the month, according to the state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s economic report released Wednesday.

“Job growth was about 227,000 in June but 46 percent of the people surveyed say they are not better off. Democrats claim the 50 percent growth of the stock market does not help the common people because most do not invest in stocks, except those with 401(k) plans. But the stock market indicates companies are willing to invest, which leads to job growth. Please explain.”

DAYTON — The new "3rd Thursday" events in Lyon County aim to bring groups, families and communities together with family friendly activities. The first event kicks off in Dayton this Thursday July 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. with music, family activities and games, a free BBQ by Healthy Communities Coalition, and information booths by Lyon County libraries, Human Services, Community Chest Inc, Community Roots and Shoots, etc.

A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested for suspicion of multiple felony and misdemeanor crimes, including two counts assault with a deadly weapon and destruction of property following an incident Monday, a sheriff's report states.
