Man suspected of trafficking large quantities of drugs in Carson City arrested in Reno
Multiple agencies including the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team and the TriNet Narcotics Task Force arrested a man Friday in Reno on multiple drug possession and trafficking charges after he had allegedly been transporting large quantities of narcotics to the Carson City area since early January, a sheriff's sergeant said.
Robert Richard Haskell, 63, is being held on a no-bail warrant at Washoe County Jail. He was arrested for alleged methamphetamine and heroin possession and trafficking. An extended investigation began in January after Carson City and Washoe County law enforcement officers learned of Haskell's involvement, said Carson City SET Sgt. Daniel Gomes.
On Friday, March 15, TriNet detectives, the Carson City Sheriff's Office SET and Washoe County K-9 deputies conducted a traffic stop in Reno where Haskell was placed into custody.
Haskell had a no bail warrant out of Nevada State Parole and Probation. Haskell was also arrested for suspicion of level 3 trafficking, level 2 trafficking, 4 counts of possession of a controlled substance, sales and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The driver of the vehicle was also arrested and faces similar charges. A subsequent search warrant was executed where more narcotics were found.
"This is another example of local agencies and task forces working seamlessly together to execute a common goal," said Gomes.
