Washoe County Sheriff's Office asks for help identifying suspects in vehicle burglary, credit card fraud investigation

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are asking for the public’s help with identifying suspects in an ongoing vehicle burglary and credit card fraud investigation.

A driver’s license and credit card were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Gremlin Way in Lemmon Valley sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019.

18-year-old Carson City woman arrested on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery

An 18-year-old Carson City woman was arrested near N. Saliman Road early Saturday morning for three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of domestic battery after allegedly punching her mother in the face while holding a knife in her hand.

Carson City deputies arrest woman for second domestic battery

A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for domestic battery second offense after allegedly attacking her ex.

According to the report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Wednesday on a report of a domestic battery. Upon arrival they spoke with the reporting party who said the woman is the mother of their child, who had arrived at the home uninvited.

Posada Event at Mark Twain Elementary to Increase Family Involvement

Carson City, Nev. (Dec. 13, 2019) — Administrators and educators at Carson City’s Mark Twain Elementary School will host Posada 2019, Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The event, open to all students and families, is part of the English Second Language (ESL) Department’s iCan Initiative designed to increase parent and family involvement for students and to help reinforce and extend learning taught during regular classroom instruction. It will include piñatas, face painting, traditional Hispanic holiday food and music, family activities, photos and more.

Christmas Food Drive, Homestead Holidays at Silver Saddle Ranch, Santa Train rides and more: Carson City region readies for busy weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Carson City's Richards Crossing residents receive gift giveaway from Red Hat Society

The Red Hat Society delivered warm bedding and clothing to each of the residents at Richards Crossing in Carson City last week. A local chapter of the Red Hat Society named the “Classy Sassy Bear Ladies” organized a Christmas gift giveaway for the residents. The giveaway, for which planning started over the summer, collected homemade and donated blankets, scarves and socks.

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a game watch at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 at Jimmy G's in Carson City.

Sunday will be the Raiders last home game in the Oakland Coliseum. Join other die-hard Raiders fans as we bid farewell to what has been the heart of our, Oakland Raiders.

The club will have a potluck with chili, chips and more. Those attending are encouraged to bring a side dish to share, or donate to the cost of the food.

‘Helping Hands Angels’ challenges Carson City businesses to adopt local families for holidays

Over 12 years ago, Denise DiMarzo recognized that the holidays aren’t always a joyous occasion for every family. While working as an office manager for a local elementary school in Carson City and speaking with children every day, DiMarzo realized that that many families struggled to get through the holidays.
