Each month will feature a different topic. Support group classes are led by Bridget Wood, RD, LD, and or Stefanie Bischoff, BSN, RN

Did you know that skin cancer is the most prevalent of all cancers? It’s estimated that over one million Americans develop some type of skin cancer every year. Overexposure to sunlight (including tanning) is the main cause, especially when it results in sunburn and blistering. Avoiding the sun is your best defense, but when you can’t, have your skin checked by a professional on a regular basis.

Additionally, PVD (Peripheral Vascular Disease, caused by blocked blood flow in the leg arteries) when diagnosed early allows physicians to intervene before serious complications develop.

Diabetes Prevention Program

That’s why, in conjunction with the CDC and the National Diabetes Prevention Program, starting July 24, 2019, a session of “Small Steps. Big Rewards.” will begin. A year-long program that has proven to be effective in eliminating the risk of diabetes.

The registration cost is $20.00 to register and an additional $5.00 per class.
