The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified an Oregon man who died Saturday in a crash involving a motorcycle on State Route 207 Kingsbury Grade in Douglas County.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the victim in a fatal crash Thursday involving three motorcycles on State Route 207 Kingsbury Grade near Lake Tahoe in Douglas County.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a 28-year-old Reno man who was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday in Spanish Springs.

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 7:58 PM, NHP Troopers were dispatched to a serious injury crash on SR-207 and Douglas County mile marker 1 involving a motorcycle.

Preliminary investigation shows that a black 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on SR-207. For an unknown reason, the motorcycle overturned and both driver and passenger were ejected.
The driver (Carlos Esparza, a 56-year-old Dayton resident) succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

On April 27th, there was a Fundraiser and Silent Auction to help raise money for my wife who is battling Stage IV cancer. There is no chemo or radiation involved because doctors said those treatments would do more harm than good. For this reason, my insurance pays nothing toward her treatment. We also have a $7,000 deductible.

The fundraiser turned out to be a great success and we wanted to thank the many businesses who donated gift cards or items to the Silent Auction.

With the weather reaching the mid-80s, now is the perfect time to get out and explore during a jam-packed three days around the Carson City region. Friday has plenty of events to get you to the weekend.

Hello Carson City as we head into Thursday, June 6, 2019. Activities, art and entertainment abound as we get closer to the weekend. There's the kickoff of two main events, the Nevada State Fair at Mills Park and the Spring Street Vibrations at Battle Born Harley-Davidson. There's also a morning hike, art showings, an end of school year celebration with live music at Living the Good Life, and the Thursday night Cruise that begins at Vino's Pizza. Read on for more.

Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 is proudly hosting the first Charity Poker Run on Saturday, June 22, 2019. All proceeds benefit local veteran charities. The poker run is open to motorcycles and cars older than 1970.

Pre-Registration will be held at the Elks Lodge located at 515 N. Nevada St. from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Day of Event registration will be from 9 to 11 a.m. There will be a Bloody Martha Bar available for adult beverages.

Entry is only $25 per driver and $10 per passenger for either a bike or car. Registration includes breakfast at the Lodge.

All in Carson City and beyond are welcome to visit and shop a wide array of clothing items offered at great prices for an awesome cause: A local organization that offers services for the homeless.

Emilie Susan Doyle, 55, of Carson City, passed away on November 19, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born May 10, 1963 in Stockton, Calif., to Frank and Rose Marie Doyle, she moved to Nevada as a teenager where she graduated from Douglas High School.

Returning for its third year, more than 250 dirt bikes will roar and race in south Carson City with riders chasing their share of a $10,000 purse at the Fuji Park Flat Track dirt bike races on Saturday, August 25 at Fuji Park.

Ready for a good time? The Carson City Fair runs all day and culminates with a special concert in the arena starring Journey Unlimited. Car lovers are in for a treat: you can head down to the Carson Mall for their monthly cruise night, or roll into the Max Casino to get registered for the 33rd annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. Head down to Mills Park for a great time. The annual Rockabilly Riot features cool cars, contests, and plenty of rock-n-roll. You’ll also find the Extreme Motor Officer Challenge with motorcycle cops from all over competing for top-dog status. For a free, family-friendly good time, you’ll find local band, Alias Jones, on the stage in McFadden Plaza. If you’ve ever been curious about the sport of BMX, tonight’s ‘Olympic Day’ racing will give you a taste of the track without any commitment.

FRIDAY, June 22: Things to do in Carson City

This is going to be an epic Fathers’ Day weekend. Carson City Off-Road sponsored by Epic Rides has taken over downtown with everything mountain bike and plays host to a free Music Festival in McFadden Plaza. Don’t miss Arts and Culture Day at the Nevada State Railroad Museum with unlimited rides on the Steam Train, special vendors, and more. Stewart Indian School will be a hotspot of activity with the annual Fathers’ Day PowWow underway. This is just the tip of the iceberg, read on for more fun than you’ll know what to do with.

The sixth annual "Adopt-a-Vet Poker Run" will be held this Saturday, June 16 in Carson City. Registration is 8:30 a.m. at Battle Born Harley Davidson, 2900 Research Way.

The actual run begins at 10:30 a.m. The total net proceeds will go to helping the Adopt-a-Vet Dental Program provide dental care for low income Northern Nevada veterans. See flyer above for details. The winning poker hand wins $500 and there will be food, fun, music and great raffle prizes.

It’s not just Friday, it’s the very first day of June and I love June. We are already off to a great start with the first of the Friday at Third concerts tonight in McFadden Plaza. Shane Dwight is back to perform for this free, family friendly event. The NEA sponsored Carson Big Read event comes to a close tonight with a free showing of 2010’s movie, True Grit in the Community Center Theater. Take the kids to the Children’s Museum for a special Night of Magic with Phoenix Phenomenal.

It’s going to be a chili weekend, and that has nothing to do with the weather. The annual Chili on the Comstock Competition takes over the tiny town of Virginia City, including a saloon crawl Saturday and the hilarious ‘Fun with the Runs’ 5K. Families will have a hard time choosing between the Cops and Kids Open House and Safety Fair at the Sheriff’s Office and the ‘Kids to Parks’ Day activities at Silver Saddle Ranch.
