The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to multiple crashes Thursday night, one that involved up to 35 vehicles and closed northbound I-580 near Galena Creek Bridge and the other crash on I-80 east of Fernley that closed westbound traffic.

A 37-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and faces felony burglary and forgery charges after allegedly attempting to write bad checks at a casino and other locations, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
