Carson City handicapped man whose stolen trike was recovered makes $3K donation on behalf of community

Matthew Ingbar of Carson City made a $3,000 donation Thursday to the Parks and Recreation Department program Movers and Doers — on behalf of the community following an outpouring of monetary support after his trike was stolen last November.

Carson Valley student places first in National Radon Poster Contest

Carson Valley Middle School eighth-grader Jacob Pipho, from Carson City, placed first in the National Radon Poster Contest, after taking home first place in the Nevada Radon Poster Contest. Playing in the snow probably isn’t an option for this weekend, but Singing in the Rain sure is. The kids of Youth Theater Carson City present a junior adaptation of the musical favorite this weekend and next. The Experimental Aircraft Association hosts ‘Young Eagle’ flights every few months at the Carson Airport to give kids 8 – 17 a plane ride to remember. Help out the Dayton Food Bank during their ‘Stuff-a-Cop-Car’ food drive at the Smith’s in Dayton; unexpired non-perishables of all kinds are appreciated. Excel Athletics Spring football and cheer sign-ups

Excel Athletics is a FUNdamental youth football league. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe appreciation for the game of football. Come EXCEL with us!

Excel Athletics youth football and cheerleading sign ups start in January.

Games will be held only on Saturdays at James Lee Park in Indian Hills, South Carson City.
