CARSON CITY — Permits to cut Christmas trees on the Carson and Bridgeport Ranger Districts of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest will be available for purchase beginning Thursday, Nov. 1. The U.S. Forest Service Christmas Tree Program is designed for families, businesses, and institutions wishing to cut their own trees for decorating.

Dia de los Muertos: Creating Cultural Connections in Carson City

The Nevada State Museum and Western Nevada College in Carson City are once again teaming up to present a Day of the Dead community celebration on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the museum.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is free. Activities include performances by Mexican and Aztec folkloric dancers, an exhibition of altars, and Day of the Dead crafts including sugar skull decorating and face painting for youngsters.

Carson Tahoe successfully wrapped up its 6th annual Spooktacular event Tuesday night in Carson City. A scary good time was had by over 800 kids and at least 1,000 total in attendance.

Come on down to the Carson Mall Scare Crow Festival, spanning two Saturdays, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20, from 12-3 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. Scarecrows cost $20 per day and pumpkins are $15 each day to decorate.
